Bio
The key to success is to be consistently better than the rest, but this is
a small thing to a giant. Especially when that giant is named Mr.
Muthafuckin’ eXquire. An MC hailing from Brooklyn, New York, eXquire is
the type of artist who refuses to be lumped in with any other rapper or any
individual. He’s his own artist and his own man. And first on his agenda
is to bring evolution to the game… Born and raised in Brooklyn, eXquire
found his calling at the age of fourteen, while in the bathroom no less. On
a whim, he decided to write a rhyme, just to see if he could do it. He was
pleased with the end result and made up his mind to write a rhyme every
night before bed. Before long, he started writing full songs and even
sleeping with his notebook (a practice he continues to maintain to this
day). As his rap skills grew, so did his rep of being the dude to beat in
his ‘hood. If you thought you had what it takes, it was mandatory you had
to face eXquire and from there you could determine whether to continue with
your craft. Most likely, he would bring you back down to realization that
you shouldn’t quit your day job. eXquire literally does this in his
sleep. With appearances at such NYC venues as Temple, TNY, and The Snitch
Bar, his aggressive, yet refined delivery has evolved into a genre that
eXquire likes to refer to as “Acid Rap” With his musical influences
ranging from underground luminaries such as Royce 5’9” and MF Doom to
more unlikely ones like The Beatles, one can understand why he calls his
music that. He fuses so many different styles together that his music
sounds new and innovative, but familiar at the same time. A lot of his Rap
DNA can be traced back to the Second Golden Era of Hip Hop, the 90’s.
During that time, music was all that mattered. An artist’s personal life
or the stipulations of his contract had absolutely nothing to do with their
mic prowess. Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire hopes to bring that time back. The
love of the art form has virtually disappeared but not for long…
