Greetings, My name is Hamzah Hamid. I have spent my young adult life in the
inner city like most of you and I am fortunate to realize I have a voice
that I can use to make the world a better place. As a hip hop artist I have
written lyrics to beats about America, Senseless blood shed and my promise.
I believe that my message is a way to give my community a voice. I am here
to focus on the state of our communities. Once upon a time in hip hop
history rap music inspired our communities towards positivity. It informed
our consciousness and voiced our frustrations clearly. Today we must
acknowledge the fact that some lyrics have slowly contributed to the
unconsciousness of our people. As I said there's a time place and age group
for everything. I definitely don*t want anyone to think I*m attacking hip
hop cause I*m not. I am hip hop. I love the art form and its freedom. I*m
just here to balance the scale. So to all of hip hop, live long and
