Bio
I introduce to you D.N.P
He’s an artist/producer who is very creative, skillful, persistent, and
always striving to go further each day. He’s very humble, and hungry
for success, consistently grinding to do what he loves,,,, music.
He comes from a family with parents who were always there for
him, though they just chose not to hand feed him. His father always said
“ if you need something, do what you have to do to get it” and that
what he does. By the age of 10, he was already making runs, and by 13, he
ran the streets at full speed.
D.N.P’s name stems from a quote his grandfather made. At a
young age, his grandfather knew of him running the streets and from time
to time would say “look, if you gone do it, do it right. Only chase
dollars and power, for with dollars comes power, and everything else will
fall into place”. And from that jewel is how his name came to be.
Dollars N Power.
Music was always in the picture for him, but if seemed to always
fall second. After a couple of involuntary vacations, he decided to go
hard at it in 2004. His first test came in 2003 at WZMX Hot 93.7’s
Roc-Da-Mic contest during Roc-A-Fella’s, Roc-Da-Mic Tour, in which only
10 of Connecticut’s best rappers would be entered. Out of thousands of
rappers calling in and spitting, he was of the chosen few, and the only who
didn’t pursue music at the time.
His work ethic is like none others. He’s a Songwriter,
Composer, and a Producer. In the 4th quarter of 2004, he released his 1st
full length solo Mixed CD “Burn it Down, and you can have it
back,,,daddy” which is hosted by Bum Squad DJs, and Aces Full
representative DJ E.L. and welcomed D.N.P to the public. Powered by his
single “ Da Gangsta Life” receiving spins on numerous college radio
stations in the U.S. as well as abroad, and has sold more than 3,000 units
out of his trunk.
In late 2006, he partnered up with producers Chasebeats and M.
Dot of Connecticut, and began working on his 1st complete album. The title
of the album is ”On My Grind” this album is executive produced by
D.N.P, Chase and M. Dot. The album was released in the 4th quarter of
2007, He also partnered up with WZMX Hot 93.7’s personality Dj Bigg
Mann, who is also a Bum Squad DJ’s, and Core DJ’s representative, to
release his 2nd Mixed CD entitled “ Fresh from da Stove” which was 100%
produced by D.N.P and hosted by DJ Bigg Mann. “Fresh from the Stove”
was released for free and has moved more than 10,000 units to date through
